Intelligent Series In The Television Sphere
Television is still our greatest home entertainment medium, yet more and more people are becoming disillusioned with the quality of TV shows and are switching off. The thing is, there are still some great shows out there that can teach us valuable lessons, here are a few of the best.
The first one is Psych; this is a networked crime drama which I think is great fun. A guy who’s memory is photographic and wits are razor sharp passes himself off as a psychic to solve mysteries and crimes.
This show keeps me very entertained and also gets my deductive juices flowing. This is a show that really gets you using your brain.
A favorite show of mine is on ABC and is Super Nanny. This fascinating program deals with the super nanny, Jo Frost, helping parents on both sides of the Atlantic who simply can’t cope with their kids anymore. You can catch re runs on Style every day.
Jo is a British nanny who has had to deal with many horrors in her time and now educates parents how to deal with issues coolly and calmly. No parent is perfect, but she points them in the right direction.
There are many factual programs that aim to raise peoples self esteem and improve themselves. What not to wear takes people who, quite frankly, don’t know what fashion sense means, and show them how to dress to feel better about them selves.
In a perfect world you would never judge people by how they looked, but our world is anything but perfect. If teaching these people how they should be dressed improved their lives, then I’m all for it!
If you take all three of the CSI’s, Law and Order and NCIS you have a set of programs that never fail to both educate and entertain, I find shows involving the legal system fascinating and these all deliver on that score. Conflicting interests, ethics and many other issues are interwoven into each show to create great television.
The writer also often writes on topics including vent covers and air conditioning vents.
