A College Student’s View Of Prince Of Persia
Since I just got to see the Disney movie Prince of Persia, I have for you the Prince of Persia movie review. The ending somewhat worked for the film although I was not pleased with it, however the characters were in sync with the game and the action and plot were good and easy to follow. Although Disney may have slightly messed up the ending, I think the casting was really good. Spoilers are contained in this review.
Beginning with the plot, it is as I said easy to follow. The prince was found while being honorable in the marketplace by standing up for a friend. Since it impressed the king he immediately adopted him and an orphan became a prince. Once he has grown up, he is tricked by his brother into offering his father a robe that kills him. Now he is an innocent fugitive on the run, desperately trying to find out why his brother would do this to him. Can he prove his innocence or the bigger question was is it his brother that set him up?
The cast was very accurate to the video game. The witty exchange between the princess and prince borders flirting. The princess appears to be as stubborn and feisty and the prince appears to be as clumsy and charismatic like they are supposed to. The way they look, nimbleness, and the accent are really well done on this Persian adventure.
The action was one of the best parts of the movie. The scenes that used the dagger and the fight sequences were intriguing as well as entertaining. The action really kept on edge. What was somewhat disappointing was that some of the action scenes looked generated rather than real, but the movie is still worth seeing. The ending however was a little too perfect. Time is reversed so everyone ends up alive and you find out who the true villain is. It is a nice family ending but to see the body count until then it seems to be a giant contrast.
In conclusion this would have to be 4 out of 5. It worth seeing but due to the special effect mishaps and the ending for me, it’s still a four. If you want something that boys will enjoy because of the action and girls can enjoy because of the love story this is a great family movie. Although, really the entire family will get a kick out of this movie. Well that’s it for this Prince of Persia movie review.
